Sergio Rossi Embraces Ancient Chinese Art with a New Take on the Chelsea Boot

Italian footwear company Sergio Rossi has teamed up with Chinese artist Peng Wei to reinvent the company’s legendary Chelsea boot. Wei has designed eight versions of the boot made up from hand painted rice paper, a traditional Chinese art technique.

Born in Chengdu, China, Peng Wei's works have been collected by National Art Museum of China, Hong Kong Museum of Art, Asian Art Center of San Francisco, Sigg collection, Guangdo Art Museum, He Xiangning Art Museum, Beijing Fine Art Academy Museum and many others.

The boots will be exhibited in Sergio Rossi’s Paris boutique on Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré from the 18th until the 21st of October. A cocktail party with the artist, Francesco Russo, the creative director and Christophe Mélard, CEO and President of Sergio Rossi, will be hosted on Friday, the 19th of October to celebrate Peng Wei's artworks.
