Happy Birthday Jordana! Pictured here at right next to Christine (centre) and me as we were heading for a night out on the town- in Kingston, Ont. in 2005 - the year Jordana, Christine & I met. And it's been nothing but fun n' games since

Styling with Booties: Black Wedges

Over the last several weeks I have featured some styling options with popular boot picks for the fall and winter seasons. I began with Sorels which are very useful for anyone who has to deal with snow and slush. I then styled some outfits that worked perfectly well with classic cowboy boots. Today I am working with one of my favourite footwear options for fall/winter - the wedge bootie. They are comfortable, professional, and appropriate for evening too. They work extremely well with sharp black pieces and make a great companion for casual denim jeans or a bright evening dress.

Fashion in How to Steal a Million

While many of us are watching Christmas classics at this time of year, I opted for another kind of classic movie last night - How to Steal a Million starring Audrey Hepburn and Peter O'Toole. This 1966 rom-com was full of everything that I love in a movie - beautiful people, gorgeous clothes, romance, comedy, Paris, and gorgeous scenery (indoors and out). (I can't believe I hadn't seen this movie until last night!)

Today I have recreated some of Nicole's (Audrey Hepburn's character) colourful ensembles.

New Designer Discovery: Harlyn

When I was in the Nest & Cradle store in Victoria a few weeks ago almost everything that I pulled off the clothing racks was by Harlyn, a new-to-me brand. Designed by Maria Stanley, Los Angeles based Harlyn has a pretty collection of feminine, vintage-inspired, printed pieces that have caught the attention of celebrities like Sienna Miller, Alyssa Milano, and Kristin Cavallari,

I wish I had time to try on these flamingo printed pants (remember this flamingo post?) because now I'm definitely regretting it!

It does take a lot to attract the attention of a monochromatic-loving gal like me but Harlyn has successfully done it. Just look at these awesome - and varied - prints...
