No holiday is more quintessentially summer than Independence Day and no party favor is more quintessentially Fourth of July than Sparklers. Sadly, not all Sparklers are created equal and today Americans only have one option when it comes to purchasing domestic. Manufactured in Youngstown, Ohio, Diamond Sparklers is the sole U.S. manufacturer of the product. Phantom Fireworks purchased the company in 1985 and moved production and much of the original manufacturing equipment from Chicago to Youngstown, where it currently staffs 18 year round employees and up to 40 temporary workers during heavy production season. During peak manufacturing months, Diamond’s production capabilities reach approximately 800,000 sparklers per day!
