Describe Anne Hathaway’s Palazzo Pants Look in 3 Words

Quick, without thinking deeply, what 3 words would you use to describe Anne Hathaway's pants?

If your thoughts veered toward words like horrendous, ugly, and unflattering, you are definitely not a fan of Anne's pants. If you thought they are okay, nice, unique, then perhaps you think this look isn't too bad.

I think Anne has one of those body shapes that can wear pretty much anything and get away with it. She definitely has the physique and the long legs to make palazzo pants look flattering and chic.

Unfortunately, though, those are all wasted on this particular pair of palazzo. Separately, it isn't too bad. The army green hue is quite popular these days and would work great with edgy pieces. But the wrinkly fabric is just too off-putting for any fashion nazi's peace of mind.

Anne's styling is also a tad confusing. The chucks and stripey orange top are definitely not the pieces to wear with pants like this. She should have worn a sleeveless top to balance them out, and a pair of flat strappy sandals would have made the look more stylish.

Palazzo pants are a little tricky to wear, but with proper styling, you should be able to create a chic outfit. Start with the following pairs:

1. L'Agence Palazzo Pants, $300

2. Alice + Olivia Super Flare Striped Pants, $118.80

3. Chloe Wide-Leg Dress Trouser, $643.58

4. Sacai Patchwork Trouser, $1,132.48

Anne should have worn any of these pairs if she really wanted to sample the palazzo pants trend, don't you think?

The half-tuck: a simple yet significant hairstyle trend

Posted in Fashion / Fashion blog / Fashion trends / Hair trends / Hairstyles

Sometimes it’s the little things that count. The attention to detail; the finish on a fingernail, the fastening of a button, the way the hair is tucked behind the ear…

You might not even think that the latter is significant enough to be called a hairstyle, let alone a hair trend. But sometimes the biggest trends are defined by the smallest things, and this is one of those times.

Hair tucked behind the ear? No: hair half tucked behind the ear. That’s the important distinction to make as this 2012 hairstyle grows with us into 2013.
