Dear MGV Readers: It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye…But I Gotta Go!

MGVSJSLALA 188x300 Dear MGV Readers: Its So Hard To Say Goodbye...But I Gotta Go!

After seven amazing years in the business of blogging, I have decided to call it quits. I have been struggling with quitting for at least a year or better, but my wonderful readers kept me going, kept me hustling. I started this blog seven years ago, after spending too much time in the Concrete Loop Chat Room, and after my mother lost her battle with cancer; I needed a way to escape. This blog and my online community of friends helped this only child deal with the loss of her mother, and provided an income so I can stay at home with my two boys.

As things come full circle, it's time for me to say good-bye. I spend way too much time online promoting other people; I just lost my grandma a month ago, also to cancer -BUT- This time I'm not turning to the blog; I'm turning away so that I can live a full life and complete my goals of being a published author. I know I'm on the right track because a dear friend just gifted me with a trip to Ghana, so that we can write our stories...in Africa.

Honestly, I don't miss writing about who Chris Brown is dating, what Kerry Washington is wearing, or why another rapper *whispers T.I* is going through a mid-life crisis. I'm not interested in being famous or working in the industry, it's just not my thing. I will forever be a behind the scenes type of girl, and so this part of my journey ends here.

There are several people I will always be grateful to...As crazy as Sandra Rose is, I couldn't have started this blog without her advice. I wrote her an e-mail seven years ago, and she replied with a list of sources and details of the trade. My blog sister, Necole Bitchie. I'm so proud of you!!! I've seen the beginning, and I know the end will be great. If it wasn't for you, many of us early bloggers wouldn't have made it. You put on for the bloggers. Thanks for networking, linking, and supporting me over the years. Keep on shining. Miss Jia, thanks for the talks. Thanks for always being there, and always responding when I emailed or called. I also know greatness is in your future, and can't wait to see how it all unfolds. Eleven 8, I wish I'd have met you earlier before BET '12, but thanks for the re-tweets. I see you grinding.

Over the years we have had many contributors including, Toni of Cotten Kandi, LeBrandon of Quick's Catch Up and Need Culture, Jade Ashley of When The Beat Drops, Lila Brown of Ella Bee PR, Jessica Williams of Entertainment Hot Spot, Mike Korte at City of Tenants, Sarie R, Brian A, Ronda B thank you all for being apart of the MGV team. I couldn't have survived without you guys. Also thanks to the network (you know who you are), it's been real.

Of course, I can't forget Ms. Toni Kemp of Dear Worl Love Toni. It's been a long ride, but you have been faithful and amazing. Hope we stay friends on the other side. I hope you continue to shine in these blogging streets.

Last but certainly not lest...thank you to all of my readers! You have made this ride unbelievable. From a computer to red carpet events, to celebrity interviews, to exclusive content and shout outs from Dr. Phil, to cease and desist letters from Diddy, internet beefs with Tameka Raymond Foster (lol), electing President Obama and registering thousands of people to vote, to give-a-ways, to charity events...the journey has been great. See you on twitter and Facebook. May our paths magically cross.

She out!
