While many of us are watching Christmas classics at this time of year, I opted for another kind of classic movie last night - How to Steal a Million starring Audrey Hepburn and Peter O'Toole. This 1966 rom-com was full of everything that I love in a movie - beautiful people, gorgeous clothes, romance, comedy, Paris, and gorgeous scenery (indoors and out). (I can't believe I hadn't seen this movie until last night!)
Today I have recreated some of Nicole's (Audrey Hepburn's character) colourful ensembles.

Jennifer Lawrence has been making fashion headlines since she started getting her share of the limelight on red carpets in 2011, and she is making sure it stays that way. While the headlines may not always be in her favor, fashion critics have not been all that hard on her (after all, ring up all the red carpet moments of even the biggest Hollywood celebrities today, and you'll see that most, if not all, went through a pretty rocky start) since she is, after all, only 22 years old with a little over one year of experience with paparazzi frenzy since the release of The Hunger Games, the film that gave her the role that allowed her to break through Hollywood.
In interviews, the quick-witted actress occasionally shows that her seemingly overnight success has not quite sunk in, but she has definitely done a better job at faking it recently with her increasing number of thumbs-up-worthy red carpet moments. Jennifer was spotted outside the Christian Dior show at the Paris Fashion Week Men's Spring/Summer 2014; she was effortlessly exuding chic nonchalance (yes, there's such a thing) for the paparazzi.
Jennifer was spotted in none other than Christian Dior, being a patron of the brand for a number of her red carpet moments in the past three years. The actress sported a pair of charcoal wool pants from its Resort 2014 collection, which is not available for the general public yet. The wide-legged pants has a guipure lace detail running down one leg, echoing the gorgeous guipure top, and transitioning into two tones of blue. The other pant leg is pleated at the waist, allowing it to flow more dramatically than its counterpart. The wider pant leg also seems to have a pocket, which all purse-carrying women would surely appreciate, as shown in the picture below:
Because of its uniqueness, the gorgeous pair of Christian Dior pants could not be matched by any alternative that we could get our hands on. However, we conjured up some wide-legged finds anyway to ease our thirst until the release of the highly coveted collection.

Quick, without thinking deeply, what 3 words would you use to describe Anne Hathaway's pants?
If your thoughts veered toward words like horrendous, ugly, and unflattering, you are definitely not a fan of Anne's pants. If you thought they are okay, nice, unique, then perhaps you think this look isn't too bad.
I think Anne has one of those body shapes that can wear pretty much anything and get away with it. She definitely has the physique and the long legs to make palazzo pants look flattering and chic.
Unfortunately, though, those are all wasted on this particular pair of palazzo. Separately, it isn't too bad. The army green hue is quite popular these days and would work great with edgy pieces. But the wrinkly fabric is just too off-putting for any fashion nazi's peace of mind.
Anne's styling is also a tad confusing. The chucks and stripey orange top are definitely not the pieces to wear with pants like this. She should have worn a sleeveless top to balance them out, and a pair of flat strappy sandals would have made the look more stylish.
Palazzo pants are a little tricky to wear, but with proper styling, you should be able to create a chic outfit. Start with the following pairs:
Anne should have worn any of these pairs if she really wanted to sample the palazzo pants trend, don't you think?

Anne Hathaway may have disappointed us with her styling of the palazzo pants, but Nicole Richie revived our spirits when she showed up looking like a total babe on the set of Extra last Wednesday, July 10. Check out the photos below, and tell us if you agree with us.
Between the two A-listers, Nicole Richie has won our hearts with her choice of outfit for her appearance on Extra. What do you think? Actually, if you've been following Nicole's everyday life as a media personality, then you'd know that she has already worn the pants before! We totally understand her fashion dilemma, but she made the pants look brand new again simply by throwing on chic separates that went well with her flowy trousers.
Sticking to the basics when it comes to dressing up, the former Simple Life star went for a breezy yet structured look by wearing a printed top with striped palazzo pants from Balmain. Black pointed shoes and aviators finished off her sleek, fashionable look.
We all know how disastrous palazzo pants can be when paired with the wrong pieces. And striped pants, too, can sometimes be a little trickier to style! But if you have the guts to show off your long-legged features in a pair of stripey palazzo pants, then check out our chic selection below.

White denim is delicate enough to wear as it is, but Zendaya Coleman didn't have qualms wearing double white denim to 7-Eleven's recent 86th birthday party shindig.
The 16-year-old singer/dancer even dared to bring a small Slurpee drink within inches of her pristine white-on-white denim vest and shorts. If we tried something like that, it's almost guaranteed that we'd get some of our drink on our clothes because white just magically becomes a stain magnet when we wear it.
Zendaya, on the other hand, clearly didn't have that problem and just sipped away on her Slurpee while posing for the cameras at the same time. And she looked good while doing it, too. We love how she used her blue-and-blush shirt not only to break up all the white but also to match her fabulous pink satin Louboutin pumps. We can only wish we were this coordinated when we were 16 years old.
Zendaya later switched to an all-white outfit, but we only recommend wearing all white when you're also frolicking at the beach like this:
